Policy on AI-Generated Artwork
Human creativity is a core value of the Japan Parade Art Contest.
While digital tools are permitted, artworks generated primarily or entirely by artificial intelligence (AI) are not eligible for submission.
What is considered “AI-generated art”?
For the purposes of this contest, AI-generated art refers to works that are created wholly or substantially through automated systems, including but not limited to:
Text-to-image generators
Image generation or transformation tools that produce final imagery with minimal human authorship
What is allowed
The following are permitted, provided that the artwork is primarily created by the artist:
Hand-drawn, painted, or illustrated works
Digital illustrations created using software such as Photoshop, Procreate, Illustrator, etc.
Minor use of AI-assisted tools for non-creative or supportive purposes, such as:
Image resizing or cleanup
Noise reduction or color correction
Review and verification
All submissions are subject to review.
The Japan Parade Art Contest reserves the right to:
Request additional information about the creation process
Disqualify works determined to be AI-generated or in violation of contest rules
By submitting, the artist confirms that the work is primarily human-created and complies with the AI Usage Policy.
